At first glance, it might seem perfectly normal that the Vancouver School Board is facing an 800,000,000-budget shortfall this year. After all, the City of Vancouver can’t spend 7,000,000,000 on the Games without making a few little cuts, can they? Perhaps this was just an accident. Perhaps it is only a fortunate coincidence that there will be even more stupid, uneducated peons to serve the rich than ever before. By sending their own children to private schools and slashing the funding for public education, the ultra-rich (yes, VANOC, this means you), have ensured that there will be an endless number of slaves to wash their clothes, cook their food, and clean their mansions. In fact, look for even deeper cuts to education and social programs in the months to come. This is a perfect opportunity to widen that gap between the rich and the poor, and so far, everything but the lack of snow is going according to plan. Is your asshole sore? If it isn’t yet, it will be. But don’t think of trying anything funny because the City of Vancouver has installed 1000 new security cameras, and they’ll be watching you. Have fun at the Games!
